About Victoria

Hello! I'm Victoria Filby, the creator of The Rat Tales.

For more than 25 years, I worked in the Estate Agency industry, helping thousands of people find their perfect home. During my career, I was proud to own three successful estate agency offices, building a business centred around honesty, trust and helping others.

My love of creativity then led me into professional photography, where I spent years capturing precious memories for families and pets. Telling stories through photographs eventually inspired me to tell stories through books.

Life hasn't always been easy. Alongside building my businesses, I've been caring for my husband, Stuart, throughout his journey with multiple myeloma, a type of blood cancer. His strength and determination have reminded me every day how important it is to find joy, hope and laughter in life's little moments.

Then one day, my son Oliver arrived home with three pet rats called Pluto, Bobby and Snoopy. He promised he would look after them... but before long, they had completely stolen my heart!

I became fascinated by their funny personalities, their intelligence and the adorable way they waddled along, wiggling their little bottoms. They quickly became part of our family and inspired the magical world of Wiggle Town.

What started as one story soon became many. Today, The Rat Tales is growing into a series of children's adventures for ages 4–7, bringing friendship, kindness, courage and plenty of laughter to young readers.

I hope you enjoy meeting Pluto, Bobby and Snoopy as much as I have.
